Connecting Cybersecurity Industry Leaders with Senior Air Force Personnel to drive Innovations that advance the capabilities of our Nation’s Warfighters
Las Vegas, Nev., July 23, 2018 – Established in 2017 by the Secretary of the Air Force (SECAF) and reporting to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force, AFWERX is a catalyst for agile Air Force engagement across industry, academia, and non-traditional contributors to create transformative opportunities and foster an Air Force culture of innovation. AFWERX Vegas, in partnership with Transmosis, a leader in cybersecurity workforce development, announce the first Cyber Social to foster innovation between the private sector and our military forces. The event is invite-only for C-Level Cybersecurity experts and senior military personnel hosted at AFWERX Las Vegas during the world’s largest cybersecurity conference (Defcon-BlackHat) on August 9, 2018, 5-7pm.
The AFWERX core mission is to improve Air Force capabilities by connecting innovators, simplifying technology transfer, and accelerating results. This is accomplished thru connecting diverse, innovative members from industry, academia and government; creating capabilities options and prototype opportunities for the Air Force; facilitating streamlined acquisition processes, and fostering a culture of innovation in the Airmen.
Transmosis is a nationally recognized Workforce Intermediary focused on enabling companies to build a pipeline of skilled cybersecurity labor by helping individuals address skill gaps through state and federal training dollars. Transmosis has been awarded multiple State and Federal grants to help industry address the massive shortage of cybersecurity workers.
At the Cyber Social cybersecurity industry leaders will be exposed to a high-level understanding of our military’s cybersecurity needs across a variety of categories and have the opportunity to interface one-on-one with key decision makers. High ranking military personnel will have the opportunity to learn more about key innovations in relevant cybersecurity fields that directly apply to their mission parameters.
Event will begin with a short introduction about AFWERX by Interim Director Mark Rowland followed by key Air Force personnel who will paint the broader picture about needs in the cybersecurity space. Reception to follow.
