Summer Game Design Workshops



We are offering 3 different workshops this summer! No experiences are required! The goal for these workshops is to promote STEM education in a fun and challenging environment. You will have the opportunity to create their own game and also explore potential career paths in the gaming/tech industry.

Workshop information:

Game Prototype Workshop: Sign up now

Speaker: Industry profession to speak to students about successful game design.

Dates: June 19th to June 30th

Time: 10 am to 2pm

Skills level:  Beginner, no previous experience required

In this workshop, students will learn:

  • How Games are made and developed
  • How to brainstorm and deconstruct a game
  • How to build a simple 2D Game in a group

3D Game Design Workshop: Sign up now

Field trip: Visit a company and speak with panel of industry professions.

Dates: July 5 to July 21

Time: 10am to 3pm
Skills level:  Beginner/Intermediate, no previous experience required

In this workshop, students will learn:

  • The fundamentals of Unity
  • Basic scripting techniques
  • Basic assets building
  • Building the basic level of a game
  • Iterate on their game based on feedback

Advanced Game Design Workshop: Sign up Now

Dates: July 24 to Aug 2

Time: 10am to 1 pm

Open workshop Time: 1pm to 3pm.

Skills level:  basic coding skill or attend 3D Game Design Workshop

In this workshop, students will learn:

  • Advanced unity techniques
  • Industry development process
  • Open workshop time is for students to continue to work on their games.
  • Meet other students, share progress, collect feedback
