CompTIA 2017 TECNA DC FLY-IN

The Arizona Technology Council is once again participating in the annual 2017 CompTIA DC Fly-In organized by our national trade association TECNA (Technology Council’s of North America) and CompTIA.  The Council would like technology company executives representing our member companies to join our President + CEO, Steve Zylstra in meetings with each of the Congressional delegation offices on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. In addition, there will be a dinner on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 6:30PM for the Arizona contingent, and informative panel sessions, followed by a reception and awards dinner on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. Also on Wednesday morning, there will be a “speakers series” prior to our visits to the AZ congressional delegation. Past speakers have included House Judiciary Committee Chairman Robert Goodlatte; Sean Greene, Associate Administrator for Investment and Special Advisor for Innovation at the Small Business Administration; and FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel.

As a sample, over the past 7 years Steve has taken executives from the following Council members on the trip; Nammo Talley, Signature Technology Group, IDS Technology Marketing, GlobalMedia Group, LLC, IO, DMD Systems Recovery, Inc., MSS Technologies, 360 Vantage, NSB/Keane USA, IR Labs, Pinnacle Transplant Technologies, Levementum LLC, Invoy Technologies, LLC, and many more.

Registration information for the event is available via CompTIA Website by clicking here. Please register on line but also RSVP to Leigh Goldstein, COO + VP, Programs + Events at lgoldstein@aztechcouncil.org if you are interested in attending this year. We need to know exactly how many members (and who) will be in attendance, as we will be setting up meetings with the various Government representatives. Each year we limit the number going to 5-7 members due to the space limitations in the Congressional offices.

About the Program: Business leaders from small- and medium-sized tech companies nationwide come to Capitol Hill to advocate for public policies that are tech-friendly and will create jobs and reinvigorate the economy. CompTIA (which this year acquired TechAmerica as the official policy arm of the organization) and TECNA members and partners will meet with their Congressional representatives; honor Congressional and industry leaders that are champions in regards to growth-oriented tech policies; and discuss Internet governance, taxes and workforce policies to accelerate the technology industry and economy.
